Burn Satan Burn – Lament Review

It seems some people were unaware that the melodic death metal band Lament, who hails from Mexico, were still around. Not only are they still around, but they have just released their 6th studio album, titled Burn Satan Burn, on their own label, Lament Records.

The album features 10 blistering tracks of brutality with a dash of melodic seasoning. Kicking off this incredible album, is the track “Rendirse No Es Una Opcion (English: To Give Up Is Not An Option)”. The track is very melodic, yet maintains the brutal elements that we’ve come to love from Lament.

The next track, “Descabeza Al Demonio Del Pasado (English: Take Down The Demon Of The Past)”, happens to be one of my favorites from the album. Very heavy tune throughout, with blazing guitar riffs from Willy Linares and Francisco Nolasco, along with commanding vocals from Abel G√≥mez.

Overall, this album is truly amazing, and gets the adrenaline pumping! I give it an 8 out of 10. A couple of the songs could use some remastering in certain areas, in my opinion. Maybe it’s just my old ears!! (Laughter)

With 5 songs that are in Spanish, and 5 are in English.

Although I don’t speak Spanish, I immensely enjoy those tracks, and I highly recommend this album to every fan of Lament, and melodic death metal! The album also contains lyrics for all songs, in both Spanish and English.
