The old-school metalcore band, Sleeping by the Riverside, has returned to the scene after many years of being absent. Sleeping by the Riverside was one of the many metalcore acts that would pave the way for what was to come, as well as sharing members with Underoath, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Further Seems Forever, and Carry the Dead.
Sleeping by the Riverside began in 1996 and was signed with Takehold Records, home to acts such as Underoath, Tantrum of the Muse, Narcissus, and Few Left Standing, and released two splits, an EP, and a studio album, A Breath Between Battles. The band disbanded in 2003 and would have members join several bands, most notably Underoath and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. Kelly Scott Nunn, the band’s longtime guitarist, also worked as a producer for Death Requisite‘s later material.
The band announced their reunion, with both vocalist Adam Warshowsky and drummer Matt Clark announced the reunion. The whole lineup of the band is uncertain, but it seems these two would be performing at the reunion. The band is set for their reunion on September 18, 2021, with the full lineup and tickets available on July 1, 2021.
