Temple of Perdition, the Messianic black metal band, is back and going at the studio once again.
The project started in 2017 by Ya’akov Nahash, with the forces of Benainah and Joonas Heikkinen (Renascent, The Slave Eye, Angel of Sodom) joining the band shortly thereafter. The three recorded a demo, which debuted in 2018 via Vision of God Records. Following its release, Corey Sorrenti joined the band as their bassist. The four went on to record a new studio album, Tetragrammaton. However, after the album’s release, Heikkinen and Benainah both departed from the band.
With their departure, Sorrenti and Nahash were forced to put together a new lineup. The two added on Ronny Hansen (Antestor, Vaakevandring, Sylvan Fortress, Grave Declaration), Luke Renno (Crimson Thorn, Sylvan Fortress, Taking the Head of Goliath), and Henna Ojala (Varda) on vocals and Shelby Brown (Tond) on drums. Brown departed after a week. Steve Reishus (Taking the Head of Goliath, Crimson Thorn) took over the throne and the band began recording their new EP, Homage to the Dead. The EP debuted in 2019 via Vision of God and soon thereafter, the band announced their disbanding.
However, as of a recent announcement by Ya’akov Nahash, the band has reunited and will be completing their newest album, Inheritance of Lies, likely slated for a release through Vision of God Records. The album will feature the band’s latest iteration.
