The wait for Agony in the Garden just got hotter. Christian metal juggernauts Testimony of Apocalypse have dropped their most searing release yet with their latest single, “Lost to the Flame (Agony in the Garden III),” out now via Roxx Records. This marks the last taste of destruction before the band’s highly anticipated full-length album drops later in 2025.
If the album was originally meant to land in spring, fate had other plans. A few detours in recording and production mean the apocalypse is taking a scenic route—one that’s now barreling toward an earth-shaking later 2025 release. But fear not: Testimony of Apocalypse isn’t one to leave their flock waiting in silence. Instead, they’re lighting the way with a track that doesn’t just smolder—it detonates.
Fire and Brimstone in Audio Form
“Lost to the Flame” is everything extreme metal should be: brutal, intelligent, and unrelenting. Blistering riffs slice through bone, rhythms hammer down like iron, and vocalist Derek Corzine swings between abyssal growls and sky-splitting highs with the precision of a battle-tested warrior. It’s a track that doesn’t just bridge genres—it annihilates the borders between them.
Guitarist Nick Pacitti gives us a glimpse into the madness behind the music:
“With Derek fully on board as our vocalist, we pushed the extremes—diving deep into the most savage speed and sludge styles but also exploring the melodic and everything in between. Derek’s bass gave us even more room to experiment, so I wrote with that in mind—allowing the low end to punch through with some key moments of its own. We were already blending genres on The Offering*, but this album takes it even further.”
Further is an understatement. The track’s technicality is razor-sharp, yet there’s an eerie beauty woven into its DNA. Drummer Paul Graham keeps the chaos controlled, while Cameron Nealy rips into a guitar solo that doesn’t just shred—it levitates. By the time the final note fades, you’re either gasping for air or ready to throw yourself into the flames.

A Descent from Grace, Set to Riffs
Lyrically, Agony in the Garden reaches deep into the echoes of history, centering on Jesus’s agonizing moment in Gethsemane before His ultimate sacrifice. But “Lost to the Flame” turns its gaze downward—to Lucifer’s rebellion, fall, and damnation. The result? A cautionary epic written in searing riffs and thunderous intensity:
“Creation’s dawn, where the light once gleamed,
A radiant angel in glory had schemed…
His kingdom in ashes,
Lost to the flame.”
This isn’t just metal. This is scriptural devastation, forged in the fires of existential reckoning.
The official lyric video drops today on Roxx Records’ YouTube, so hit subscribe, turn your speakers to 11, and brace for impact. Because if this is the prelude, Agony in the Garden is set to be an extinction-level event.
