Quite frankly, when it comes to metal vocalists, the ones with the most distinctive voices seem to be remembered more often than not. One of those reasons is also if you were that voice for one of the biggest and influential metal bands around the world.
When Luke Easter joined progressive metal band Tourniquet back in 1993, there were obviously some big shoes to fill, especially if it was founding member and previous vocalist Guy Ritter. However, beyond that, Luke made it his own. And he traveled the world, preached the gospel, and pursued his dream, until he parted ways with the band in 2015.
Since then, Luke has been very busy with his own solo EP release The Pop Disaster (2018), which in itself was a considerable difference to the heavy music and thrash elements that we were used of hearing throughout his career, and also creating artwork, among other things.
Then brings us to today, to where heavy metal and blues-oriented band Reign Of Glory, which features Nick Layton (guitars), Roger Dale Martin (Vengeance Rising, Die Happy) on bass and Jim Chaffin (The Crucifed, The Blamed & Deliverance) on drums, has announced that Luke Easter has taken the reins as the bands new frontman, as a replacement to Robyn Kyle Basauri (Red Sea, Die Happy), who appeared on the group’s debut full-length All Will Bow (2022) on Roxx Records.
Reign Of Glory will be performing at this year’s part one of Immortal Fest on the 22nd and 23rd of July, in Versailles, Ohio, which obviously for some of the fans, there is a bit of disappointment at not witnessing Robyn performing during the event. However seeing Luke Easter take the mic again on the big stage is the best way imaginable for things to work out.
