Hypersonic was born in 2006 by the idea of Salvo Grasso and Emanuele Gangemi. The style of music is symphonic power metal influenced by various artists like: Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Golden Resurrection, ReinXeed, Eden’s Curse, Heavenly, Nightwish, Kamelot, Labyrinth, Vision Divine, Kai Hansen, Tarja Turunen, Europe, Journey, Within Temptation, HB, and Stryper.

In 2007 Hypersonic released their first demo: Demo 2007, with the first tracks composed by the drummer Salvo Grasso and the guitarist Emanuele Gangemi. Their singer back then was Alessia Rapisarda who joined the band in 2008 .
At the beginning of 2008 the first EP entitled Inspiration Is Transpiration was released. It acclaimed positive feedback from magazines and various radio promotions.
In the following months Francesco Testai left the band for personal reasons so Dario Caruso, Francesco’s brother, became the new keyboardist; the line-up was finally accomplished.
During the years the band had taken part in numerous live shows and rock and metal festivals.
In March 2009 Hypersonic entered at Tower Hill Studio (Belpasso/Catania-Italy) to record their first album Fallen Melodies, mixed by Luigi Scuderi and Salvo Grasso and mastered by Riccardo Samperi at TRP MUSIC STUDIO ( Tremestieri Etneo/Catania-Italy).
In December 2010 a new single “Rebirth” was released online from the album.
In January 2011, the band signed a record deal with Underground Symphony to release the album Fallen Melodies.
In January 2016 the band signed a record deal with Revalve Records for the releasing of the new album entitled Existentia. This album was a concept project based on the existence of man and the spiritual affairs of the afterlife and was released in March/April 2016. In the album there are some special guests like: Michele Luppi (Secret Sphere, ex-Vision Divine, Killing Touch, Los Angeles), Tommy ReinXeed Johansson (Sabaton, ReinXeed, Golden Resurrection), Jo Lombardo (Metatrone, Ancestral), Roberta Pappalardo (Astralium), and more. Mixing and mastering were done by Riccardo Samperi at TRP MUSIC STUDIO (Tremestieri Etneo/Catania-Italy).
2016 was a year with great achievements for Hypersonic, in September they hit the charts:
#38 on the iTunes Netherlands Rock Chart and #78 on the iTunes Switzerland Rock Chart.
Hypersonic was on tour in the UK for six dates in August 2016, Rock Alive 2016 (The Netherlands), Elements Of Rock 2017 (Switzerland), Rainbow Rock 2017 (Sweden), Maximum Rock Festival 2017 (Romania), Rock Alive 2018 (The Netherlands).
Hypersonic has also performed in different European and Italian festivals like Elements Of Rock (Switzerland), Femetal Fest and We Rock Fest (Italy).
2017 they headlined the first ever Rainbow Rock, that time held in Stockholm. This summer they came back for a show in Alfta which was their second performance in Sweden.
After ten years, two albums and many live shows around Europe, the singer Alessia Rapisarda left the band in February 2019. Eleonora Russo is now the new singer of Hypersonic.
She is already known in the Italian music scene for her solo career. She joined the band in April 2019. With her image of a Gothic Princess and the rest of the band staying together for over a decade, I´m sure the band will attract new fans during their tours.
“Path Of Salvation” is the latest single and was released in July 2019. The new album is scheduled for the beginning of 2020. Listening to the older material I get vibes like from Nightwish, I’m a fan especially of the first years till End of an Era.
“Rebirth” and “Prayer In The Dark” are my favorite songs from this band and also I loved hearing “Path of Salvation” live. I look forward to hear the rest of the new record.
