Beloved lead singer and co-founder of the renowned metal band Bloodgood, Les Carlsen, has continued his legacy with a new ensemble that comprises both past and present members of Bloodgood, following the death of his closest friend and brother, fellow founding member, and namesake artist Michael Bloodgood, who passed away to be with Jesus in July 2022.
In spite of that loss of a genuine icon in Christian hard music, Les Carlsen, together with his wife Joyce, guitarists Craig Church, Paul Jackson, bassist Ricky B. Rogers, and drummer Dan Needham, formed The Les Carlsen Band, which also included Stryper guitarist and long-time friend Oz Fox. This band launched a heartfelt debut album, He’s Coming (2022), which features popular tracks such as “I Wanna Know You,” “River,” and the title song “He’s Coming.”
After a development phase lasting two years or more, Les Carlsen is poised to return with a new single, “Free Will,” which is scheduled for release on August 12th. This release on the same date also provides an opportunity to support crowdfunding through Kickstarter for the forthcoming as-yet-untitled second full-length album.
