The open spaces of Wales in the United Kingdom are just beautiful, and I have spent a little time there in the small country over the years, when Christian metal retreat Metal Meltdown aka Meltdown frequented a camping venue outside of Kerry, Powys, UK, once a year.
Little to my knowledge, somewhere nearby was a young teenager Lina Griffiths (Mörtemiis) growing up in Kerry, in a religious home, and also fond of the genre of black metal. We somehow became friends on Facebook a couple of years later, unaware of this young lady, who has a passion for black metal but was struggling with her faith.
To be honest though, don’t we all do that? However, after much growing and maturing Mörtemiis formed a solo black metal project Blodfält after her re-dedication to Christ and released her debut independent EP It Is Finished (2021) and a follow-up, Evangelism (2022). Ever since then, she has remained quiet on the music front, until now when it has been revealed that a brand new member, Lord Enochaim (Michael Williams) from solo black metal project Satan Destroyer, has joined the fold.
This isn’t the first time that both artists have contributed and made music together as Michael created another project entitled Casm, that just released a three track EP When is the End of Summer last month, on Vision Of God Records. The EP features Lina on drums, and also bassist Thomas Roach.
