Technical blackened death metal band Paindemonium originally formed in Egypt back in 2007 as a cover band for Swedish black metal band Dissection, before they began to write their own music and releasing their debut EP Demonipathy (2010), before disbanding shortly thereafter.
Founding members Raafat “Raaf” Atasi (guitars/vocals) and Mohamed Salama (guitars/vocals), years later after relocating to the Netherlands, sparked the revival of the group with a new bassist, Yazan Ju, and the band then started working on their upcoming full-length Latent.
The trio acquired the talents of session drummer Krzysztof Klingbein (Vader, Hate, and Belphegor) as they continued progressing. However, they lost the services of Salama back in 2022, yet the rest of the band soldiered on to complete the finished product.
Their new single “All Hail the Despot” via Distro Kid dropped earlier this year in June, and served to tantalize the appetites of extreme metal listeners everywhere.
