When I first heard of the Galactic Cowboys it was back in the mid-nineties, and hearing of how great they were musically and as a band, even though I came late to the party when I obtained their sixth full-length album Let It Go back in 2000 and guess what, I became an instant fan.
It was unfortunate that soon thereafter the band decided to disband due to frustration throughout the camp with lack of direction, lack of success, and also talk of wanting to focus on their own solo projects…
After a brief reformation in 2009, ultimately it wasn’t until 2016 when the group announced that they had signed with the Mascot Label Group, with the original line-up of Monty Colvin (bass guitar), Alan Doss (drums), Ben Huggins (lead vocals & guitar) and Dane Sonnier (guitar) ready to release their first album in 17 years entitled Long Way Back To The Moon (2017).
Fast forward to 2024 and the Galactic Cowboys have just announced that they are currently working on a brand new as-yet-untitled album, and hoping to raise the funds through a Kickstarter crowdfunding webpage, which will be launched very soon.
