Doom/black metal project Ascending King has finally released their latest single, “Lignum Vitae“, coming through Nosral Recordings. The single comes as a collaboration between brainchild Ruah and Sebat of Frost Like Ashes, and it exhibits more of a straight-forward black metal style over doom metal.
Ascending King began back in 2017, as a solo project of Ruah, who had previously been a part of the secular metalcore band Dryline, several years prior. The project would be the first to sign with Nosral Recordings, with other Christian metal acts joining the label soon thereafter, including Symphony of Heaven, Children of Wrath, Nuclear Blaze, and Cruentis. The band would release their debut single, “Genesis of Desolation“, followed shortly thereafter by the EP titled Funeral of a Species. However, since the EP’s release, the project remained silent up till this release. The band is currently writing new material, with a sludge metal, doom metal, and black metal style.
