The Christian metal torch burns hot and heavy as REIGN OF GLORY—the all-star quartet featuring axe-slinger Nick Layton (FireWolfe, Q5), bass legend Roger Dale Martin (Vengeance Rising), thunderfoot Jeff McCormack (Fifth Angel, Heir Apparent, Q5), and new vocal powerhouse Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen, Royal Hunt)—officially announce their sophomore record, SLINGSHOT, set to drop July 2025 on Roxx Records.
To mark the moment, the band has revealed the cover art, a bold and blazing visual crafted by none other than Scott Waters—artist, metalhead, and walking encyclopedia of Christian rock history. (Seriously, the man’s a legend.)
If their 2022 debut All Will Bow gave us a taste, SLINGSHOT is bringing the full-force headshot. Heavier, deeper, and even more anthemic, the album draws on biblical grit and personal fire, delivering the kind of shredding, soaring, spirit-fueled metal that’s equally at home in the sanctuary or the mosh pit. Expect fists-in-the-air choruses, dizzying guitar work, and enough melodic power to light up a revival tent.
Track highlights include “Too Close to Midnight,” “More Than a Memory,” and the raging title cut “Slingshot of Faith”—each one a holy hammer aimed straight at the soul.
The band will debut cuts from the new album live at the Immortal Christian Rock Festival at the BMI Event Center in Versailles, OH, on July 25, 2025. You’ll want to be there when the giants fall.
CD, vinyl, and digital editions of SLINGSHOT will be available everywhere through Roxx Records. Until then, keep your eyes peeled and your ears primed.
